Donald Brown Obituary

Donald W. Brown was born August 8, 1927 to Elmer and Ethyl Brown. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Porter Brown, their two children Gary Brown (wife Ann) and Amy Cunningham (husband Mike).  He is also survived by three granddaughters; Toni Bernstein of Terre Haute, Ashley Griffith of Iowa, and Lori Cheeseman of Terre Haute, two step-grandchildren; Tony Wagner and Cindy Wagner, and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Ethyl Brown and two brothers; Roy and Herman Brown.  He was 90 years old and went to meet his Savior Jesus Christ at the pearly gates of Heaven at 7:30 a.m. May 2, 2018 while at Regional Hospital. He is now walking the streets of Gold. No more suffering, no more pain. He retired from Ethyl Vis Queen (now Tredegar) in 1987 after 37 years of service. He was well liked by many friends at Ethyl Vis Queen and was known as “Brownie”, especially to Rocky Nelson and wife Deloris, who reside in Terre Haute. He was also a US Army Veteran and served from 1945-1947.  Don and Mary attended Maplewood Christian Church, Agape Church, and Mt. Pleasant.  In later years they attended Maryland Community Church in Terre Haute until their health would no longer permit.  A special thank you to Dr. Antwan Mardini for providing excellent care, Regional Hospital, and Heart to Heart Hospice all of Terre Haute for providing excellent care and being there for our family at a very difficult time and providing wonderful care to a man who was a very special Husband, Dad, Pop, father-in-law, and friend. Per his wishes, cremation was chosen with Greiner Funeral Home in Terre Haute. No services will be held at his request.
