Donald Lee Smith, 74, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away December 27, 2017. He was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on June 22, 1943. Donald enjoyed his family and he was an avid fisherman and reader. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. He also worked as an Electrician through IBEW #725, in which he was a 52 year member. Donald graduated from Wiley High School in 1961. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Laura (Johnson) Smith; Children Cheryl Chandler (Brent), Brent Smith (Teri), and Edward Hutcheson (Lynne); grandchildren Kevin Hutcheson (Guisi), Michael Bailey, Jessica Mager (Joshua), Rachel Hemminghouse (Lee), Shannon Hutcheson (Claire), Megan Loveall (Dustin), and Kaitlin Smith; great grandchildren Adelyn Bailey and Kaylee Hutcheson. He was preceded in death by Tressa and Harry Ruffner. In honoring Don’s wishes, cremation has been chosen. A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later time.
