Dora Elizabeth Baker

Dora Elizabeth Baker, 108, passed peacefully into her Heavenly home July 2, 2021 at Cobblestone Health Campus. Dora was born in Clay County Indiana on September 19, 1912, to George and Elsie Summers. At the age of five, the family moved to Riley, Indiana where Dora lived the rest of her life until her recent admittance to Cobblestone Crossing where she passed. At the age of seventeen, Dora met the love of her life, Drelden Baker. The two were wed in 1929 and were happily married for 61 years. Together they raised two children, owned and operated W.C. Baker and Son in Riley, Indiana. Dora retired from First Financial Bank after 18 years of service. Dora was a member of the Eastern Star and Oak Hill Community Church where she faithfully attended services. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and her husband Drelden, one son Larry Baker, a grandson Terry Baker, daughter in-law Rosalie Baker, brothers; Cecil, Elza, Arthur, Newell and one sister, Hallie Settelmeyer. She was also preceded by her son in-law Jack Ryder. Dora is survived by a daughter Lila Ryder, grandsons; Thomas and Stephen Owens, granddaughters, Suzanne Alband and Tracy McKee as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friends. Services are Tuesday July 6, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Community Church, 10055 State Road 46, Terre Haute, IN 47802. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Rev. Timothy Fagg will be officiating.  Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street has been entrusted with arrangements.
