Doris Brown Obituary

Doris Ann Brown, 87, of Terre Haute, passed away January 23, 2022 in her home in Sycamore Manor.  She was born November 14, 1935 in Terre Haute to John and Martha Johnson.  She was a devout Catholic, and attended Sacred Heart of Jesus and Saint Joseph Catholic Churches.  She graduated from St. Patrick’s High School.  She worked and retired from First Financial Bank, where she worked in the safety deposit box area.  She was an avid baseball fan, and enjoyed her time attending Terre Haute Rex Baseball games.  At the Rex games, she was sometimes asked to throw the first pitch to start the games.  Doris loved her family and always followed her grandkids sports including basketball, baseball, and soccer.  Everyone loved Doris, she will be dearly missed by those who knew her. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Kenneth Brown.

Doris is survived by her son, Dan Brown (Carol), daughter, Becky Skelton, brother, Jack Johnson (Judy) of Terre Haute, sister, Wanda Baltes of Florida, grandchildren; Jason Brown (Stacie), Danielle DeGroote (Casey), and Angela Allsup (Josh), and Gregory Curtis (Melisa) along with great grandchildren; Corynn, Kyarra, Calleja, Keffer, Connor, Annika, and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Doris will be Thursday, January 27, 2022 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 113 S. 5th Street, Terre Haute, IN, with mass beginning at 11 am. A visitation will take place from 9 am until mass at the church on Thursday.  The family asks that those who attend services please where a mask to protect against Covid-19.  Online condolences can be made at www.greinerfuneralhome.com
