Dorothy Fern Crawley Wilson passed away May 28, 2021 in Terre Haute. She was 83. Dorothy grew up in Edgar County, Illinois, the only child of Orville and Mary Crawley. She graduated from Paris High School in 1955 and the following year married Jack Wilson. They were married for 56 years until his death in 2012. They moved to Terre Haute, where Dorothy worked in various jobs and was a member of several civic organizations, including Sweet Adelines, Welcome Club, the Department Club and Friends of Holly Arboretum.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a grandchild, Rebecca Wilson, as well as a son-in-law, Doug Campbell. She is survived by her children Charlene McKean (Raymond) of Terre Haute, Darlene Schultz (Brad) of Shelbyville, IN, Janice Emerson (Greg) of Overland Park, KS, Jerry Wilson (Rae Ann) of Brownsburg, IN, Donna Butler (Richard) of Dallas, GA, and Larry Wilson (Martell Lewis) of Brazil, IN. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Mary Beth Ruble, Raymond McKean, Jr., Emily Schultz, Colin Schultz, Jeremy Emerson, Nikki Emerson, Holly Daniels, Tyler Daniels, Tony Wilson, Derek Wilson, Nathan Wilson, Ethan Wilson and Olivia Wilson, and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Dixie Payne, and Linda McGlone, and a brother-in-law, Larry Wilson (Charleen).
Visitation will take place at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN, 47804, Wednesday, June 2 from 11am-1pm, with a service to follow. Burial will be at Forsythe Cemetery in Edgar County. Any donations or memorials can be made to the Friends of Holly Arboretum at Deming Park, Terre Haute.
