Dorthea Ruth Ausherman

Dorthea Ruth Ausherman, 80, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on August 31, 2025.  She was born on October 4, 1944, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Paul F. Ausherman and Bessie Ruth (Gross) Ausherman.  Dorthea worked as a LPN.  She was a major contributor and volunteer for the Vermillion County Humane Society.  Dorthea is survived by her children Lisa Walecki (Mark), Julie Cox (Jerry), David Byers, and Kevin Byers; grandchildren Jeremiah Corbin, Tiffanie Corbin, Matthew Byers, Stephanie Julbert, Stephanie Stiles, Shane Alkire, Hilary Pair, Macee Byers, Amanda Frost, and Jake Byers; 24 great grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild and one on the way.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Paul R. Ausherman, one grandchild and one great grandchild.  In honoring her wishes, cremation has been chosen.
