Doyne Maxine Akers Perdue, 92, of Terre Haute, Indiana, went to be with our lord, April 21, 2025 at Wellbrooke Senior Living in Westfield, IN. Doyne was born August 1, 1932 in southern Vigo County to Charles Monroe Akers and Lutella McCoy Akers. Married to Ellsworth Perdue on January 16, 1960, they raised 3 children. A son, Jeffrey A. Perdue who preceded her in death, in 1992. A son Terry L. Perdue, and a daughter, Lori A. Garlet Mansard who preceded her in death, in 2022. Doyne was a loving wife and mother, and loved getting extended family together. She worked for R.H. Donnelley in Terre Haute, and AT&T in Center, Ohio. She loved traveling, especially with Ellsworth or her sister, Janet. She loved reading scripture and singing hymns of praise. She attended New Life Fellowship at East Glen. Doyne was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Arthur Leon Akers of Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters, Margaret Hayes of Martinsville, IN and Janet (Pigg) Jenkins; her husband of 56 years, Ellsworth Perdue in 2016; brother-in-law Emory Perdue; sisters-in-law Rosemary Burden, Sharon Moore and Jeanette Taylor. She is survived by her son Terry A. Perdue; 4 grandchildren; Jessica Perdue-Decker (Ben), Joshua M. Perdue (Jenepher), Amanda Thoeny (Brandon), and Grant Mansard (Ashley); and great grandchildren Brodie & Shelby Jean Decker; Charlotte Thoeny; Madison, Isabelle and Maverick Mansard; sisters-in-law Susie Kunz, Nancy Knauff and Patty Perdue; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be Monday, April 28, 2025 at 12 p.m. at New Life Fellowship, 7849 Wabash Ave, Terre Haute, IN 47803. A visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will take place in Roselawn Cemetery. Pastor Jeffrey Harpole will be officiating. Greiner Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
