Edward Morgan Obituary

Edward E. (Eddie) Morgan (91) of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on January 20, 2024, at the amazing age of 91. He was born in Olney, Illinois on June 19, 1932.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Lou Morgan; and faithful Chiweenie dog, Molly. He is also survived by his daughters, Nancy Morgan Stewart (sp. Dennis) of New Jersey and Jennifer Morgan Morin of Michigan; stepchildren, Jami Wheeler (sp. Herb) and Tina Syester of Indiana. Also surviving are grandchildren, Morgan Morin-Pickett (sp. Kevin) of Michigan, KatieRyn Stewart of New Jersey and Peter Morin of Michigan; step-grandchildren, Sasha Wagner (sp. Luke), Dylan Price, Olivia Price (partner, Eric Bridgewater) of Indiana; step-great-grandchildren, Dallas Wagner and Lincoln Wagner of Indiana; and niece, Cathy Toliver Paul (sp. Ted) of New Hampshire. Additional surviving are numerous cousins and countless friends.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Rolla Morgan and Cecil Mary Stump Morgan; first wife, Dorothy (Bunny) Flowers Morgan; sister, Phyllis Toliver (Wid); stepson, Don Syester; and son-in-law, Peter Morin.
Eddie was born and raised in Olney, Illinois. Eddie lived a life of honesty, curiosity and, most of all, humor. He was always ready with a huge grin, a twinkle in his eye and a good joke.
He was very proud of his days working on a barge on the Ohio River, his time in the Army during Korea, and returning to Olney to make a living building beautiful homes.
He was born into a family with a love of motorcycles and spent nearly his entire life riding them, Harley-Davidsons when he was young, then Honda TL trials dirt bikes with his family. He then transitioned to Honda Gold Wings, and proceeded to tour all over the United States, even into Canada around Lake Superior. He became one of the earliest members of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, a charter member of Indiana Chapter D, and was the inaugural recipient of the Good as Gold award, created in his honor.
When it was time to give up the bike, they continued traveling with a camper, visiting nearly every state and National Park. Then, when finally giving up the camper, they became snowbirds, spending the winters in Florida.
Services for Eddie will be on Thursday, January 25, 2024. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at Greiner Funeral Home in Terre Haute, Indiana. Burial will be at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Olney, IL, at a later date.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
