Elizabeth Ann Kiefner “Beth”, 70, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on December 2, 2024.
She was born on August 1, 1954, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Richard Wayne Crowley and
Barbara Lucille (Wright) Crowley. She is survived by her husband Robert Lee Kiefner “Bob”;
her four children Shelly Keen (Shawn), Angela Karr (Charles), Robert Kiefner, and Chris Kiefner
(Shawndel); nine grandchildren Caleb McMullen, Corey Karr, Taylor Hohenstein, Joel
Wittenmeyer, Kelsey Keen, Grace Kiefner, Anna Kiefner, Alex Karr, and Brendon Keen; nine
great grandchildren; siblings Michael Richard Crowley (Janice) and Susan Kathleen Hills; and
her beloved dog Molly. She was preceded in death by her parents and great granddaughter
Rosslynn Marie Goben.
Beth loved coffee, bingo, the snow, shopping, trips to the casino, and air-conditioned camping.
But what she loved the most was her family. She loved anything that included spending time
with her family.
Beth was a beautiful, kind, loving, and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She took care
of her husband Bob for 51 years. They were fortunate enough to celebrate their 51st wedding
anniversary shortly before her passing. She loved watching her children grow into adults and
then become parents themselves. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a great
source of joy for her. All of the grandchildren knew that Grandma Kiefner would never tell them
no.
Beth spent decades working in the insurance business in Terre Haute. Her coworkers and
customers knew that they would always be greeted with a warm smile when they came in. She
was compassionate and understanding when others needed help and were facing difficult times.
Beth’s favorite time of the year was the holidays. She loved to decorate her house almost
immediately after Thanksgiving. The Christmas tree and village would often remain up until
almost spring. To her, the holidays meant enjoying and appreciating family. She loved
watching the excitement as gifts were opened, and the smiles that would follow. It was a time
when everyone was together at once, and that was what mattered the most to her. Beth will be
missed tremendously this Christmas, and every Christmas thereafter.
In honoring Beth’s wishes, a cremation has been chosen. A celebration of life will be held at a
later time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to Terre Haute
Fire Department’s Protect the Precious. Donations can be made at the Terre Haute Fire
Department Office at 25 Spruce St, Terre Haute, In 47804.
