Ella Jessie Mars

Ella Jessie Mars, 86, of Terre Haute, passed away Monday November 15, 2021 in her residence surrounded by her family. Ella was born in Owensville, IN on February 14, 1935. She was a graduate of Indiana State Teachers College now known as Indiana State University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She was a substitute teacher at Terre Haute North High School and retired from the Defense Contact Management Agency in Melbourne, FL., as a contact Specialist. Ella loved her family, attending children’s and grandchildren’s dance recitals and sports events always cheering them on. She was preceded in death by her parents, Spicy M. Johnson and Robert L. Johnson who resided in Owensville, IN. She was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Davis and a granddaughter, Madison Holvey. She is survived by her husband, James. T. Mars, a daughter, Dee Holvey and her husband Pete of West Terre Haute and their children Olivia and Katherine. She is survived by one son, Paul Bradley Davis and his wife Lori of Stuart, Fl., and their children Kayla and Payton. She is survived by one sister, Diane Wright of North Carolina and a brother, Michael Johnson of Oklahoma. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday November 20, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804.
