Everett James Heimes

Everett James Heimes Jr., 90, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 2, 2024.

Everett was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on April 14, 1934 to Everett Heimes Sr. and Carrie Lyday. Everett met the love of his life Betty (Vester) and married her on October 13, 1953. They went on to have 5 children, 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Everett worked for ISU and the Tribune Star for many years. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in November of 1974.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Carrie, his brother Frank, sister Shirley, sister Betty, daughter Joyce, son David, and granddaughter Jessica. He is survived in death by his wife Betty, daughter Carolyn Moore (Robert), daughter Jenny Metcalf (Bill), son Richard Heimes, great-granddaughter Alexis Heimes whom they raised, several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

There will be no funeral service but a memorial will be planned at a later date.
