Gary M. McCabe

Gary M. McCabe, 68, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, January 25,
2025 in his residence. Gary was born in Terre Haute on November 10,
1956, to Edward McCabe and Mary Edwina VanKirch McCabe. Gary was a
member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy where he
was a Respiratory Therapist and he was honorably discharged in 1986. He
retired from Laborer’s Local #204 and was the Director of Indiana Laborer’s
Training Fund in Oolitic , IN. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid
sportsman especially enjoying baseball and basketball. He was preceded in
death by his parents, Edward and Mary Edwina McCabe. He was also
preceded by aunts Nelrose Wolfe, her husband Lloyd Wolfe Sr. survives,
and Carolyn Sue Milner, her husband Donald Milner survives. Other
survivors are his sisters, Susan Fuson and her husband Mark of Terre
Haute and Nikki Freeman and her husband Steve of Tulsa OK. He is
survived by his uncle, Charles Toth and his wife Martha of Terre Haute as
well as several nieces and nephews. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at
12:00 noon on Friday January 31st at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1807
Poplar Street, Terre Haute, IN 47803. Father Todd Riebe will be officiating.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to St.
Patrick School, 449 South 19th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47803. Greiner
