Gary M Pearson

Gary M. Pearson, born January 24, 1939 to Arnold and Lucille Pearson of Terre Haute, IN, passed away on March 4, 2023.

February 16, 1957, Gary met and fell in love with his only true love, Wanda Hawley Pearson, and had just celebrated 66 years of marriage.

Together Gary and Wanda raised four daughters; Debbie Bennett of Terre Haute, IN, Janice (husband Dan) Schafer of Hillard, OH, Gerri Lynn Reeves (Jim) of Bargersville, IN, and Leslie Small (partner Manda Robinos) of Lafayette, IN. Gary adored and loved his children and grandchildren; Tim Bennett, Heather Bennett, Jessica Birchler (Dustin), Melissa Fallowfield (Greg), Patrick Schafer, Mallory Schafer, and Madison Small. And 6 Great Grandchildren.

Gary worked at Anaconda Aluminum for over 40 years as a mill operator. He was awarded several awards for “SAFETY”…and the family’s nickname for Gary was “Safety SAM”.

Gary enjoyed playing golf and was in a golf league at Anaconda. He enjoyed playing golf with his son in laws; Jim and Dan. As well as watching the PGA and other golf outings on TV. Gary and Wanda enjoyed traveling across the country in their RV.

Gary has two surviving siblings: Carolyn Lee, Frank Schafer. Gary is preceded in death by Richard Pearson, Dorothy Burns, Patty Alden, and Paul Wright.
