Gilbert Ronald Aguilar

Gilbert Ronald Aguilar, 80, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday January 11, 2023 in his residence. Gilbert was born in Chicago, IL, on May 23, 1942 to Enrique Aguilar and Sally Guerrero Aguilar. Gilbert was a retired Correctional Officer working for Centre County Correctional Facility and retiring from Putnamville Correctional Facility. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and was very musical. He enjoyed playing the conga drums, bass and piano. He had been a member of several music groups, most recently The Master’s Bouquet. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, a son, David Aguilar, a brother Skip Aguilar and sister, Helen Contreras. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Needham Aguilar of Terre Haute, whom he married on October 10, 1998. He is survived by a son, Nicholas Aguilar of Pennsylvania, two daughters survive; Isabelle Figueroa (Albert) of Chicago, IL, and Jessica Cumba (Martin II) of Pennsylvania. A brother survives, Fredrick Aguilar of Chicago. Grandchildren; Joseph Garcia (Karina), Steven Garcia (Amber), Eva Amira and Martin Cumba III. Two great granddaughters, Leila Garcia and Niya Stephens and one great grandson, Elijah Garcia and Benjamin Garcia to be born in March. Services are Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Grace Baptist Chruch, 1209 North 19th Street, Terre Haute, IN. 47807. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Highland Lawn Cemetery. Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN. 47804 was entrusted with arrangements. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to Grace Baptist Church.
