Gracie Smith Carithers passed away at 12:44 a.m. Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Cloverleaf Healthcare in Knightsville, Indiana.
Gracie was born July 7, 1928 in Fillmore, Indiana, to Roy C. Smith and Clarcie Duncan Smith and graduated from Riley High School in Riley, Indiana, in 1946. She married Ray Carithers on November 16, 1946 in a double ceremony in a parsonage in Clay County, Indiana, with their best friends Betty Wey and O'Jay Heck.

She was a member of Oak Hill Community Church and an avid bowler. Even up into her 80's she was bowling in 5 leagues a week. Her biggest hobbies though were her yard, her family, and her husband. There was nothing in life that she loved more and was more dedicated to.

Survivors are daughters Vicki Shuck, Page, Arizona, Soni Leturgez (Jerry), Brazil, Indiana, grandchildren James Sullivan (April), Terre Haute, Indiana, Crystal Sullivan (Jason Hiddle), Harmony, Indiana, Tiffany Girton (Kodie), Center Point, Indiana, Lucas Strain, Brazil, Indiana, and Sarah Strain, Brazil, Indiana.
