Hartzelle "Peggy" Mae Yeager

Hartzelle Mae Yeager “Peggy”, 95, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on October 22, 2025.  She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, on July 19, 1930, to Charles Dwyer and Hartzelle (Thompson) Dwyer.  Peggy worked as a crossing guard for many years locally.  She attended Maple Avenue Methodist Church.  She enjoyed flowers, collecting lighthouses, reading books especially Danielle Steele, and talking to her family and friends.  She also enjoyed her pets.   Peggy is survived by her children John A. Yeager (Sandy) and Joyce A. Harkrider (Dan); grandchildren Shaun Ramsey, Matthew Yeager, and John A. Yeager II; great granddaughter Oakley Ramsey; sister Ruth Deverick; step grandchildren Daniel “DJ” Harkrider (Mary Jo), Curt Harkrider, and Colton Harkrider (Corrine); several step great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John J. Yeager in 2024, they were married for 51 years, and siblings Charles “Chuck” Dwyer, Betty Barrett, and Mary Miller.  Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at 6:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N  13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47804. Pastor Keith McIntyre will officiate.   Private burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 3:00p.m. until service time.
