Jackie "Jack" McCarty Obituary

Jackie “Jack” L. McCarty, 84, of Terre Haute, passed away October 8, 2021 in Gibson Family Hospice Center. Jack was born on December 1, 1936 in Terre Haute to John McCarty and Naomi Haton McCarty. He was retired as a Captain and Lieutenant for the Terre Haute Police Department and was responsible for starting the K-9 program at the Department. He was member of American Legion Post 104, Veterans of Foreign War #972, and Sycamore Club where he was past President, also the Marine Corp League. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Dick, Johnny and Jimmy. He is survived by one son, David McCarty of Union City, OH. He is survived by one sister, Mary McCarty of Terre Haute and a granddaughter, Alyssa McCarty as well as several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services are Friday October 15, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.greinerfuneralhome.com
