James P E Camp, 82, of Riley, Indiana, passed away on December 11, 2025. He was born on April 23, 1943, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Franklin M Camp and Carrie (Ringo) Camp. James was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a mechanic. James is survived by his wife Marsha (Woodruff) Camp of 61 years; sisters-in-law Lila Camp of Mississippi, Brenda Goodman of Texas; and special niece Marcy Hobson. James was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Carrie Camp; in-laws Floyd and Ila Cummings; son James P E Camp II; sister Carolyn Butts (Gene); brothers Frank Camp (Helen), Dick Camp, Bennie Camp, Bill Camp (Etta); brother-in-law Sam Cummings of Shoals, Indiana; sisters-in-law Debbie Hobson of Paris, Tennessee, Becky Rogers of St. Elmo, Illinois, and Pat McPherson of Vandalia, Illinois. In honoring James wishes, cremation has been chosen. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society or to a Veterans Organization of choice.
