James Coakley Obituary

James Michael Coakley “Mike”, 79, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on May 4, 2025. He was born on March 4,1946 in Terre Haute, Indiana, to James Coakley and Joann (Edwards) Miller. Mike worked as an administrator for the Indiana Laborers Health and Welfare Fund, he was also a member of the Laborers Local #204 for 55 years. He was an Army Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion 328, Indiana Freemasons Lodge 560, Zorah Shrine, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite and the Royal Order of Jesters.

Mike and the love of his life Salli Coakley have been together for over 21 years. They built a beautiful life together that they loved surrounded by their children, grandchildren, friends and family.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents James Coakley and Joanne (Edwards) Miller and Step Father Jeff Miller  

Mike is survived by his wife Salli Coakley, brother Jay Coakley (Jackie); son Sean Coakley (Denise); granddaughter Anna Gaither (Will) and great grandson Oliver Gaither. Mike was also blessed with a bonus son Ryan Pierce; two bonus daughters Stacey Hodges (Jeff) and Stephanie Pierce along with 4 bonus grandchildren and 9 bonus great grandchildren.

Per Mikes wishes he will be cremated, and no services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Greiner Funeral Home is helping with the arrangements. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care or the Drew Foundation at PO BOX 317 Edenville, Michigan 48620
