James Leroy Dowers

James Leroy Dowers, 77, of Carlisle, Indiana, passed away on November 19, 2023.  He was born on October 20, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri to Everett Dowers and Grace (Williams) Dowers. He was a 1964 graduate of Garfield High School.  James worked in healthcare as a LPN.  He liked to tinker in his garage on tractors and enjoyed being at home with his dog Buddy.  James was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister, and great grandson Wyatt McCammon.  He is survived by his children Libby Hopper (John), James R. Dowers (Jodi), and Amy McCammon (Rob); grandchildren Allison, Taylor, Garth, Madisyn, Kyra, Kaitlyn, Mitchel, and Cierra; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, November 26, 2023, at 3:00p.m.  Visitation will be from 1:00p.m. until service time.
