James Stevenson Obituary

James L. Stevenson, 76, of Terre Haute, passed away Thursday March 6, 2025 at The Majestic Care of Deming Park. He was born March 2, 1949, in Terre Haute to Noah Stevenson and Lois Biddle Stevenson. Jim was a graduate of State High School, class of 1967. Jim was also a graduate of Ivy Tech, class of 1969. Jim worked as a Route Salesman for Chesty Foods and was a proud member of the Teamsters Union. He retired after 27 years of service with Hulman Company Clabber-Girl Corporation. Jim was a member of Maryland Community Church. In recent years he attended his neighborhood church, Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church. Jim loved God, his family, his dear friends and all mankind. He enjoyed playing basketball and fishing with his brother, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents as well as his K9 Companions, Ellie and Rosie. He is survived by his sister, Karen Lapido, brother, David (Kim) Stevenson, nephew, Mike Arnett and nieces, Lee Ann Reilly (Joe), Jennifer Culbertson (Daniel), Jamie Fletcher (Brent) and many great nephews, nieces and close cousins. Services will be at 4:00 p.m. visitation from 2:00 p.m. until service time on Monday March 10, 2025 at Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church, 3201 McKeen St. Terre Haute, IN 47803. The church is located two blocks south of Hulman St, on South 32nd St. Pastor Andy Fishback and Pastor Monte Vincent will be officiating.  If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church. The family would like to thank Majestic Care of Deming Park and  VNA Hospice for their care and support. Greiner Funeral Home 2005 North 13th Street was entrusted with arrangements.
