James M. Cole, 79, of Terre Haute, passed away Thursday January 21, 2021 in his residence. Jim was born September 17, 1941 in Washington D.C. to James Oscar Cole and Ethel Cole. He was the owner of Reiman Building Materials, The Fireplace Shop at Meadow Center, Cole Construction Company and Co-Owner Miller / Cole Plastering and lathing. He received his private pilot’s license and owned an airplane that he enjoyed flying around the country. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, wood working, reading, cheering on the Cubs, and he never found a DeWalt tool that he didn’t need to own. He was a loving family man with a great sense of humor. Later in life he thoroughly enjoyed almost daily visits from his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Suzy) Cole whom he married October 23, 1963, they were married for 57 years. He is survived by a daughter, Christy Trainor (Roger) and a son, Jim Cole. He is survived by grandchildren; Tyler, Taylor and Tara Trainor. He is survived by a brother Jerry Cole (Judi), a niece, Jennifer Engelmann (Matt). Close family friends, John Neff and Karen Neff and his faithful Dog, Vegas who was always by his side. Services are Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral.
