Jeanette Ann Elrod, 90, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday February 13th in Cobblestone Crossing. Jeanette was born May 2, 1929 in Shelby County, IN to Noble C. Winton and Kathryn O’Dell Winton. Jeanette was a longtime member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women’s Circle. She attended Butler University from 1947 to 1948 and graduated from Indiana State University in 1976. She was involved in the Mortar Board, Tri Kappa, Chapter 2 of the P.E.O., Phi Upsilon Omicron, past board member VNA, Y.W.C.A. and A.L.L. She was Past President of Indiana State University Wives Club and the Women’s Symphony League. She was preceded in death by brothers; Noble Winton Jr. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Mary W. Smith. She was preceded by her husband, Wilburn Thomas “Bud” Elrod on June 1, 2013. She is survived on a daughter, Leslie Elrod-Suttle and her husband Sam Suttle Jr. of Terre Haute. She is survived by a son, Gary Elrod of Yukon, OK. She is survived by a brother, James Winton and his wife Sue. She is survived by step grandsons; Andrew and Jordan Suttle as well as a niece, Cindy Winton Remley and nephews Brent Smith, Keith Winton, Vince Smith and Kevin and Kyle Winton. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday February 18, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Maple Ave United Methodist Church, 1203 Maple Avenue, Terre Haute, IN 47804, a gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 pm. until service time. There will be a meal immediately following services at the church. Pastor David Rockhill and Pastor Phil Dorrell will be officiating. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to Maple Avenue United Methodist Church.
