Jeen Anne Doty

Jeen Anne (Hughes) Doty, 63, lost her battle with cancer on October 4, 2024. She was born February 18, 1961, to Frank and Peggy (Foltz) Hughes. Anne was a 1979 graduate of Rosedale High School and a 1981 graduate of Vincennes University where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Law Enforcement. Anne began her career as a police dispatcher in Parke County and later in Vigo County. Anne’s focus eventually shifted to her family and her small farm. She was passionate about animals and was licensed to rehabilitate federally protected wildlife. She was also proud of her cattle, which were descended from her grandfather’s heard. She enjoyed growing and preserving food. Later in life, Anne returned to law enforcement, becoming a Sergeant at the Vigo County Juvenile Detention Center. 

Anne is preceded in death by her father, Frank, and her brother, Rob Hughes. 

Anne leaves behind her mother, Peggy; her son, Sutton Doty (Danielle); her grandchildren, Sylas, Ariya, and Myles Doty; two step-sons, Tim Doty (Katrina) and Sam Doty (Matthew Solomon); and two step-grandchildren, Vincent Doty (Grace) and Guerin Doty. 

Anne’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care for their compassionate and attentive care of Anne during her stay.  

The family will be holding a celebration of life gathering on February 23rd from 12-2 PM at the Collett Park Pavilion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.
