Jeffrey Lee McCombs

Jeffrey Lee McCombs, 69, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on January 4, 2026.  He was born on August 11, 1956, in Evansville, Indiana, to Thomas McCombs and Annabelle (Gorby) McCombs.  Jeffrey worked at International Paper for 33 years.  He went on to work as a Correctional Officer at Putnamville Correctional, and then he drove a school bus for the Vigo County School Corporation.  Jeffrey held membership with the Lost Creek Gun Club.  He was known for his kindness, dedication, and humor. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 25 years Valerie McCombs in 2015; and brother Tim McCombs.  Jeffrey is survived by his son Kyle Jeffrey McCombs (Danielle); step children; Valerie Greenwell (Robert), Aaron Barnhart, and Winnie Lynn; grandchildren; Fiona McCombs, and 13 other grandchildren; and several great grandchildren; brothers; Michael McCombs (Karen), Larry McCombs (Becky), and Stephen McCombs (Ruth); sister-in-law, June McCombs; and several nieces and nephews; girlfriend;  Karen Phillips.   In honoring Jeffrey’s wishes, cremation has been chosen.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the Sullivan Civic Center, 344 N Main St, Sullivan, IN 47882 on February 7, 2026 from 12:00 to 4:00 P.M.
