Jerry Wayne Parks, 63, of Terre Haute, passed away on September 4, 2020 in his home. He was born on February 22, 1957 to Franklin Parks and Agnes Williams Parks. He worked for many years at Terre Haute Malleable Company. He attended Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and cooking. Jerry loved to feed people. Jerry’s house was the neighborhood hangout. Jerry touched so many people’s lives. He was a very lively character that never met a stranger. He was the unofficial East end mayor of the neighborhood.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, and his sister, Donna Young.
He is survived by his father, brothers; Ronald Parks, and Rev. Jeff Parks, a sister, Darlene Parks Wills, and his adoptive sister, Karen. Also surviving Jerry’s dog, Boss, and a host of special friends, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be on Saturday, September 12, 2020. A visitation is scheduled from 11 am until service time. Bishop Quentin Isabell will officiate. Burial will take place in Grandview Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.greinerfuneralhome.com
