Joel Alan Wells II

Joel Alan Wells II, affectionately known as Joely Bear passed away on October 2nd 2024, in Terre Haute, Indiana, at the age of 33. Born on June 25th1991 in Roswell, New Mexico, Joely was a person of joy and sweetness, whose laughter and smile were both wonderful and contagious.

Joely attended Davis Park Elementary and Otter Creek Middle School before attending Terre Haute North Vigo High School. Throughout his life, Joely cherished simple pleasures like chicken nuggets, fries, and milk. He had a passion for game shows, cartoons, and exploring the world through maps and globes. Joely also enjoyed walking, swimming, and spending time with his beloved stuffed animals. Known for his beautiful heart, he loved spelling games, often asking people to spell words for him, which he would then joyously decode.

He is survived by his father, Joel Alan Wells Sr., his mother, Patricia Phyllis Laitas, brothers Daniel and Tyler Wells, along with several aunts, uncles, and extended relatives who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held at Northside Church of Christ, 1356 5th Ave, Terre Haute, Indiana, October 17th from 6-7 pm, followed by the funeral service at 7 pm. A dinner at the church will follow the service, where attendees are welcome to bring something if they like, or simply bring themselves to remember Joely.
