John David (q) Jarvis

John David Jarvis, 88, of West Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on April 25, 2022.  He was born April 5, 1934, to John David Jarvis and Lula M. (Sullivan) Jarvis.  He worked as a roofer for many years.  He also served as a police officer in West Terre Haute, Indiana.  John is survived by his wife of 41 years Evelyn (Childers) Jarvis; children Patrick Jarvis (Catina), James R. Jarvis (Lisa), Carolyn Jarvis (Roger), and Daniel Jarvis; grandchildren Christian, Isaac, Nash, Corey, Rusty, Austin, Dakota, Courtney, Bobby, John F., Jimmy, Susan, John D., Shannon, Amy, Christy, Jacob, and Cody; several great-grandchildren; mother-in-law Georgia Childers and sister-in-law Donna Hyde. John was preceded in death by his parents; son John Jarvis; and brother Ronald Jarvis.  Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 2, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home. John had a very special bond with his grandson, Christian who will miss him dearly. He loved all his grandchildren & great-grandchildren very much, but Christian and John were characters when together. There was never a dull moment between those two. Christian will carry on his grandpa’s spirit, love, & joy for life. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.  Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday, from 3:00 p.m. until service time.  If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
