John W. Jenkins

John W. Jenkins, 92 of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully while surrounded by
family, Thursday, March 9, 2023. He was born to Mary Clouse (Roy) and John
Jenkins on March 1, 1931, proceeded in death by his parents, wife Betty of 56
years, four brothers, one sister, grandson John Jenkins lll, and great, great
granddaughter Mallorie Cochran. and great grandson Austin Shanks.
Survived by son John Jenkins, ll (Susan), daughter Cheryl Gaither (Bob),
grandchildren Tracy Steiner (Michael), Tonya Garrison (Neil), Charity Shanks
(Timothy), Angie Snapp (Lindsey), Joshua Jenkins (Amanda), Jordan Jenkins,
several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. John was a member of
the Sycamore Club. He was employed at Wabash Fiber Box for 18 years until he
began his own waste pick up service that he operated until his retirement. He
enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and listening and dancing to music
and making people smile.
Thanks to the passionate caregivers at Springhill Village and Hospice of the
Wabash Valley. A special thank you to great granddaughter Brittany Brown for her
end-of-life care and guidance.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at
Greiner Funeral Home located at 2005 North 13 th Street in Terre Haute, IN.
Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation. Ken Grubb will
officiate. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions
can be made to Gentiva Hospice.
