Johnny Dean Salyer

Johnny Dean Salyer, 66, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away January 21, 2024. Johnny was born May 14, 1957, to Harvey and Glenda (Chapman) Salyer.

Johnny was a member of King’s Harvest Four Square church. He enjoyed gardening, tinkering in his yard and making creative things. He enjoyed family gatherings and made everyone feel like family. Johnny had the greatest personality and was a “good hearted dude.”

John was a good man, a good friend, a fellow rider, and a brother. He loved hanging out with the "Wild Hogs". Just a handful of people that like to ride Harleys and have fun. Whether we were spending the day on the backroads, or hanging in someone's garage, "Johnny Biker" always added entertainment. He had a personality unlike anyone else that I've known, or ever will know. I am glad to have met him. He will certainly be missed.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, and a granddaughter Destiny Fields.

He is survived by his mother, Glenda; his wife, Mary whom he married December 18, 1992; daughter Haylee (Ryan Fields); son Jason Keck; siblings: Dora Augburn, Sonya Salyer Howell, Sheila Heyen, Curtis Salyer (Julie) and Gary Salyer (Sharon); grandchildren: Wyatt Wagner, Landon Salyer-Higginbotham and Destin Fields; a large extended family including nieces, nephews and cousins and childhood friends, you know who you are.

Services for Johnny will be Friday, January 26, 2024, at 4:00p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47804. Visitation will be from 2:00p.m. until service time at the funeral home. There will be a celebration of life at 5:30p.m. at the Rosedale American Legion on Friday, January 26, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral costs.
