Judith Ann Callahan, 77, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on October 23, 2024. She was born on June 10, 1947, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to John Carl Kirchner and Helen Julia (Berkemeier) Kirchner. Judy was known for her unconditional love, innate kindness and fierce loyalty, as well as her strong work-ethic, first as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone and the local post office, then later she retired from Macy’s after 21 years, the last several of which were in Human Resources.
Judy enjoyed crocheting and loved anything in the color purple. She lived by the Golden Rule and had the ability to see the beauty in life; one of her favorite past times was sitting on her deck watching the clouds for shapes.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Thomas Callahan; beloved daughters Ann Bell (David), Susan Heisler, and Jean Carlson (Jason); cherished grandchildren Brittany, Nicholas, and Caitlin Bell, Meredith and Sam Heisler, and Garrett and Logan Carlson; as well as her brother Steve Kirchner, sister-in-law Charlanne Callahan, and several nieces and nephews.
Judy Callahan: wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, will be forever missed by all of the countless lives she touched. The memorial service will be on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 3:00p.m.in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47804. Visitation will be from 1:00p.m. until service time
