Kay Smith, 73, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on May 17, 2025. She was born on June 6, 1951, in Clinton, Indiana, to Harold Doughty and Juanita (Booker) Doughty.
She graduated from Clinton High School. Kay was an amazing housewife, she was married 53 years to Jerry Smith. Who passed on February 17, 2023. Kay was a wonderful wife, an amazing cook. an outstanding gardener, and an amazing sewer .
Her dedication to her husband was insane, 53 years together. She enjoyed the finer things in life including makeup, nails, clothes, jewelry, traveling, the TV shows Yellowstone and Virgin River. She loved antiques & her family. Kay loved her brother so much. She was always talking about him. Their love was strong. She loved hanging outside with her girls Kaylah, Nacole, and Ella. They would laugh for hours.
She had the most beautiful smile, laugh, and spirit. Kay was baptized at The First Christian Church. She was a very faithful woman that loved God, her family, and anyone who was kind spiritually.
Kay is survived by her daughters Ella Smith (James, who she loved like her own and his milkshakes), Nacole Hillhouse Smith ( Brian), Gina Kay Hooper (Jim), and Jody Goldner (Tim); grandchildren Kaylah Mayfield, Hannah Jade King, Justin Shane Champion King, Dabious Hillhouse: great grandchildren Haven J Ellinger, Cainan Hillhouse; brother Carl Terry Doughty( Laurenne); nephew and niece Tom Wiley & Elizabeth Ph' oloa;; She had a lot of family at Majestic of Deming Amber Hagmeir, Jenelle Young, Kamryn West, Stacie Wilson, Emily Stewart, Stephanie Kelly, Ally Brown, Kasey Brown, Heather Jackson Kennedy, Mona Donham, Courtney Iltzsch, Tiana Hudson, Hannah Webster, Nicole Smith, Journey Powers, and many more.
Also celebration of life June 7, 2025 at Fairbanks Park, in Lions Shelter from 1:00p.m. until 5:00p.m. A private burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The family would like to thank The Gentiva Hospice Team. Candy Snyder, Abagail, Cindy, and Dawn, everyone who visited mom.
