Laura Bell Davis Prather

Laura Bell Davis Prather, 94, of Terre Haute, Indiana, was taken peacefully by her angel with her daughter at her bedside at 10:00p.m. April 25, 2020.  She was born April 2, 1926 to Thomas and Elsie Bunch of Terre Haute.  She was preceded in death by her parents, infant siblings Citie Pearl and Thomas Bunch, her first husband Robert Wayne Davis and first son Larry Wayne.  She was blessed with a second family, having married Fred A. Prather in 1956, who died February 2008.  She is survived by her daughter Ramona “Mona” Russell, sons Robert Davis (Susan) of Terre Haute and Ronald Prather (LaRee) of Georgia, grandchildren Michelle Layko of North Carolina, Julie Porter (Kenyatta), and Jill Davis (Ben), great grandchildren Steven Layko, Marine 2nd Lt. Samantha Layko, Joseph C. Layko, Ashley Haraway, Nolan Russell Phillips, Eleanor M. Phillips, Kenyatta Porter Jr., special friends who called her Mom, Gary and Delora Kirby, Joy Whitlock, and Judy Smith.   She was a homemaker, loving mother and GG who had a kind heart and special smile for everyone.  We want to thank the staff nurses and aides for their loving and extra special care at Springhill Village and Kindred Hospice.  Cremation has been chosen.  Graveside services and a celebration of life with be held at a later time, after the virus passes.  The family has entrusted Greiner Funeral Home with care and arrangements.
