Linda Kay Payton, 81, of Fontanet, passed away peacefully on April 9,2025 in Clinton Gardens Nursing Home after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born February 6, 1944, and is preceded in death by her loving husband John Arvel Payton, her parents Sherman and Eunice Stultz, and a sister Shirley Mace. Linda was a member of Mt. Aetna Baptist Church and the Fontanet Action Community Team. She enjoyed attending the Fontanet Bean Diner and watching Indiana basketball, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, NASCAR, and soap operas. She was a volleyball and baseball mom as well as a loving mother and grandmother. She will be missed by many, and after years of battling Alzheimer’s she was thankful for the people around her and the caring staff at Clinton Gardens who took care of her. She is survived by her children, Kevin John Payton of Fontanet, Indiana, and Sara Kay Feckete of Avon, Indiana; three grandchildren Payton, Ella and Kaleb. She will be cremated and laid to rest next to her loving husband John in Roselawn Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
