Lora D. (Whitford) Hazard, 78, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, October 01, 2023 surrounded by family at Signature Healthcare .

Born on June 06, 1945 to Wallace and Gladys Whitford, she was known to family and close friends as Toodie. She enjoyed reading, loving on her pets, and spending time with her family. She was a member of The Sanctuary Apostolics of Terre Haute where she loved being with her church family and rejoicing in the glory of her savior. Throughout the years, Toodie loved interacting with patients bringing them food at Union Hospital, making morning biscuits at Hardees, and working the production line at Heartland Automotive. She was always known for her pretty eyes and beautiful smile. Toodie will be remembered as a little spitfire with a great sense of humor.

Surviving are two sons: Steve Hazard and wife, Gloria, of Rockville. Mark Hazard and wife, Shelley, of Mechanicsburg, PA. Five grandchildren: Heather Rainwater and husband, Brian, of Terre Haute, Steven Hazard and wife, Shawna, of Terre Haute, Mark Andrew Hazard of Athens, GA, Mark Anthony Hazard and wife, Kaitlyn, of Rockville, and Katelyn Griffin and husband, Tyler, of Clinton. Six great grandchildren Nevaeh Griffin, Elizabeth Hazard, Natalie Hazard, Joel Hazard, Amelia Hazard, and Gabriel Griffin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carleton Hazard, an infant son, Carleton Keith Hazard, a great grandson, Andrew Griffin, two brothers: Wallace Whitford and Brad Whitford, four sisters: Birdie Lou Whitford, Beverly Cummins, Joyce Lovellette, and Kay Carter.

Visitation will begin at 11am on Thursday, October 5th at The Sanctuary Apostolics of Terre Haute, 2311 Locust St, followed by a service at 1pm with Pastor Merrill Weir officiating. Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery in Riley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society or The Sanctuary Apostolics of Terre Haute.
