Loretta Charleen Patterson

Loretta Charleen Patterson, 76, of Marshall, Illinois passed away at Union Hospital on October 17, 2021 at 2:47 am.  She was born to Norma Jean Loveall and Herbert Simmons on June 15, 1945.  She was married to her husband, Dale Patterson, for 41 years.  Loretta was a great mother, amazing grandmother, and a devoted wife.  She was an incredibly hard worker, and she enjoyed keeping busy and always helping others. 

Loretta is preceded in death by her mother and father, Norma Jean Loveall and Herbert Simmons of Terre Haute, In. 

She is survived by her husband, Dale Patterson of Marshall, Illinois.  She is also survived by her 6 children:  Tonya Patterson of Terre Haute In, Michael Tarrh of Terre Haute, In, Bobby Tarrh of Terre Haute, In, Michelle Tarrh of Terre Haute, In, Lynn White of Terre Haute, In, Marion (Pete) Tarrh of Fairbanks, In, and Cathy Tarrh of Fairbanks, Indiana.

Loretta is also survived by her 5 step-children:  Dena (Rob) Porter of Marshall, Illinois, Debbie (Mike) Myles of Martinsville, Illinois, Mike (Pauline) Patterson of Martinsville, Illinois, Teri (Alan) Winemiller of Vincennes, In, and Twila (Tim) Fears of Terre Haute, In. She is also survived by her brother, Jack Simmons of Terre Haute and Tony (Lynn) Martin of Pence, In.  She is survived by one neice, Jackie Simmons of Terre Haute, In.  

Loretta had several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at Greiner Funeral Home on Thursday, October 21, 2021.  Visitation services will be from 4 pm – 6 pm and funeral services will begin at 6 pm with Rev. Ronnie Crawford officiating. 

Flowers are welcome, but the family asks that if any donations are to be made to make them to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or to Riley Children’s Hospital.
