Mallorie Cochran Obituary

Mallorie Justine Cochran, 16, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away October 17, 2021.  She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, on December 5, 2004 to Justin Cochran and Kourtney (Steiner) Gummere.  Mallorie attended North Central High School, where  she was the President, of her Junior Class.  She ran track and field, played softball, basketball, cross country, and  participated in choir.  She held membership in the National Society of High School Scholars, National Beta Club, Art Club, and Pep Club.  Outside of school, she held membership with 4H Goat Club and ADGA.  Mallorie was a Cadet Fire Fighter with Pierson Township Fire Department.  She worked at Wabash Valley Dragway for 2 years, helping out where ever she could.  She enjoyed helping others.  Mallorie could make anyone smile.  She was passionate about the things she loved, and was also not afraid for her voice to be heard if needed.  Mallorie loved her siblings, often times acting as a mother figure to them. They looked up to their big sister. Her lifelong goal was to attend Purdue University, and become a Veterinarian or a Doctor.  She wanted to help those in need.  Her classmates and teachers want to remember her with the hashtag, #lovelikemal, because that is truly who she was.  She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.  She is survived by her mother Kourtney Gummere and step father James Gummere; father Justin Cochran and step mother Ariann; siblings Dustin Cochran, Evan Gummere, Hanson Gummere, Collin Sagarsee, Leah Sagarsee, Lucas Sagarsee, Caroline Cochran, Mary Beth Cochran, and Brooks Cochran; grandparents Michael and Tracy Steiner, David and Vickey Cochran, Michael and Susie Gummere, and Gary and Mary DeLong; her boyfriend Jeremiah Swalls;  she is also survived by numerous great grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.  Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 7:00p.m. in North Central High School 910 E County Road 975 North, Farmersburg, Indiana.  Her step father James Gummere will officiate.   Visitation will be at the school on Thursday, from 4:00p.m. until service time.  Private family services will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery for burial.  If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Terre Haute Savings Bank called lovelikemal Memorial Fund, for a future scholarship, in Mallorie’s name, to help those in need. #lovelikemal
