Margaret Christine (Freers) Gehring

Margaret Christine Freers Gehring, 91, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on July 6, 2025.  She was born on September 2, 1933, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Clarence Freers and Kathryn (Thompson) Freers.  Margaret married Donald Gehring  on June 5, 1953.  Margaret taught High School for over 30 years, working at Clinton, Fontanet, Gerstmeyer, and Terre Haute North Vigo.  

She was a member of Cross Lane Community Church, retired teachers, Christian business and professional women, and Bluebird Camp.  Margaret enjoyed  spending time with family and friends, reading, Bible Study, sewing, and aquatic aerobics .  She is survived by her son Chris Gehring (Kelly); daughter Donna Gehring Williams; grandchildren Mark Williams (Holly), Amanda Gehring, and Alison Burbrink (Josh); great grandchildren Stephen and Trenten Killion; Donovan, Anderson, Britton, and Callahan Williams; and William and Matthew Burbrink; sister-in-law Anita Martin; nephew Randy Gehring(Nancy); niece Kelli Martin.   Additional family members include grandsons John Hupp, Loren Newkirk and Steve Killion, great grandchildren  Collin Newkirk and Krystalyn (Clay)Williams. Two great nephews, a great niece, two great-great nephews, and three great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Bernice Gehring (Chuck), and her granddaughter Christine Killion.   Her family will hold a private memorial service with Entombment in Roselawn Memorial Park.   If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to North Terre Haute Christian Church, Kansas Christian Church in Kansas, Illinois, or Switz City Christian Church in  Switz City, Indiana.
