Marilyn Ann (Burgess) Canty

Marilyn Ann Canty, 68, passed away June 28, 2021 in her home.  She was born July 31, 1952 in Amarillo, Texas to Dwight Middleton and Marilyn Thompson Saragusa.  She was a homemaker.  She was baptized in the Unity Presbyterian Church.  Her passion and great love was caring for her grandkids, and puppies.  She would love to go fishing with her grandchildren so she could watch them have fun fishing, she didn’t do much fishing herself.  She enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the birds.  She loved animals, and never missed an opportunity to embarrass her own children.  She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Martha Clark, a nephew, Timothy Riley and a niece, Bonnie Saragusa.  She is survived by the love of her life, Patrick Canty; sons, Kenneth Burgess (Tammy Norris), and Mark Canty (Kris), daughters; Kelly Pine (Terry Jr.), and Tonie Canty (JT Bowman), a brother, Al “Ernie” Wilson, sisters; Gladys Rogers and her 3 boys, Gaynell “Tootie” Riley and her daughter Krystal, and Brenda Thompson and her son Chris, 16 grandchildren, and 20+ great grandchildren, and a special friend, Nancy.

Services for Marilyn will be Friday July 2, 2021 at 1 pm in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804. A visitation is scheduled from 11 am until service time at the funeral home on Friday.  Cremation will follow services. Online condolences can be made at www.grienerfuneralhome.com
