Mary Lou Lunstrum, 85, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at The Gibson Family Center of Hospice Care at Union Hospital.
Mary Lou was born on September 15, 1940, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to William “Red” Rhoden and Nellie Mae Rhoden. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and neighbor—truly one of the kindest and most loving people anyone could have known.
Her life revolved around her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mary Lou found joy in walking, dancing, and spending time sitting on the porch visiting with her neighbors. She absolutely adored her cat, Mr. Kitty, and cherished every moment spent with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Christina Roberts; her son, Greg Walsh; grandchildren, Larry Vire II, Lindsay Gibson, Whitney and Wade Walsh; great-grandchildren, Sammy, Abby, Dylan, Clacey Mae, Leia, Dex, Maddi, Alexa, Bella, Wyatt and Hailey; and her great-great-grandchild, Mavis Billiot. She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Red” and Nellie Mae Rhoden; her husband, Bill Lunstrum; and her brother, Bobby Rhoden and son in law David K Roberts.
Mary Lou will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her kindness and gentle spirit will forever be remembered.
