Mary Ann Sullivan, 86, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 17,
2025. Born on December 3, 1938, in Terre Haute to Joseph E. Preston and Ruth
McCutchan Preston.
Mary Ann was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother and great-
grandmother. She is survived by her beloved children: Ruth Ann Akers, Deborah Kay
Drummy (John), Robert Steven Akers (Tricia), James Brian Sullivan (Michelle), Kimberly
Ann Bayless (Richard), Kerry Jo Lloyd (Brad), and Kevin Patrick Sullivan (Beth). She
leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to
her life.
She follows in death her loving husband, James Michael Sullivan, who passed away on
September 9, 2020. Mary Ann was also preceded in death by her parents, stepson
Timothy Michael Sullivan, and her siblings William Preston, John F. Preston, and
Joseph Preston Jr.
Mary Ann will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her kindness, and the love she
shared so freely with family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the generations she
nurtured and inspired.
Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 2322 N 13th
1/2 St, Terre Haute, IN 47804, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Visitation will begin
at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 a.m. A burial service will follow
immediately at Rose Lawn Memorial Park, 7500 N Clinton St, Terre Haute, IN 47805.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s
Association or the Terre Haute Humane Society—two causes close to Mary Ann’s
heart.
