McDonald "Mac" Jackson

Rev. McDonald “Mac” Jackson, 89, of Terre Haute and formerly of Indianapolis, passed away Friday August 18, 2023 in Terre Haute surrounded by his family. Rev. Jackson was born to Garland B. Jackson and Maude May Jackson on September 18, 1933 in Amherstdale, WV. Rev. Jackson was a graduate of Marshall University earning a B.A., he was also a graduate of The Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, KY, earning a Masters of Divinity graduating in 1966.  He was a Baptist Minister serving in many churches during his career, including Gullets Creek Baptist Church in Needmoore, IN, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Orleans, IN, First Baptist Church in Aurora, IN, and retiring from Tuxedo Park Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN. After retiring he was an interim Pastor when needed.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed playing golf. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as five brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Alice June Booth Jackson, they celebrated 70 years of marriage in July of 2023. He is survived by one son, Rev. Bernard Jackson (Barbara), of Terre Haute and one daughter, Angela D. Carpenter (Mike) of Batavia, OH. He is survived by seven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Services are Tuesday August 22, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Terre Haute First Baptist Church, 4701 Poplar Street, Terre Haute, IN. 47803. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at church until service time. The family encourages your attendance at the Graveside Service which will be on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis. Rev. Bernard Jackson will be officiating.
