Michael Bryan Obituary

Michael Lee “Pigpen” Bryan, Jr. died on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at 41 years old. He was preceded in death by his grandma, Ladonna Strahla, and his mother, Donna Strahla Bown. He is survived by his children Willa and Ziggy, his wife Lacey Lovelady, his sisters Anna Black and Lucy Chew, his stepfather Larry Bown, and his cousin Beth Bisson, as well as other cousins, brothers- and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. He answered to many names—Michael, Mike, Dad, King, Uncle Mike, Mecca Lecca, Pigpen, Mikey B., Bubba—and he walked many paths—electrician, academic, anthropologist, artist, son, brother, husband, father, friend, and comic relief in any situation. Proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 725, Mike B. brought an unforgettable presence to the jobsite and those he worked with. This obituary is short because there is just no way to accurately describe Mike or the way we all feel about him and how much he added to all of our lives just by being his brilliant, compassionate, hilarious self. I will say this, though: one of his greatest hurdles in life was figuring out how to deal with how good-looking he was. He was so pimp and so fly that the ladies just WOULD NOT leave him alone, and he could hardly leave the house in peace. So now he can finally get a break from runnin’ from all the girlies. Fare you well, fare you well, we love you more than words can tell. Listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock your soul. A Celebration of Life will be held for Mike on Saturday, February 16, from 2-8 pm at the IBEW Union Hall—5675 East Hulman Drive, Terre Haute, IN, 47803.
