Michael Steven ”Mike” Morrison, age 81, of Terre Haute, Indiana entered this life on
March 26, 1944, in Columbus, Ohio. He was the son of the late Harry H. and Elizabeth
Ann "Betty" Buckles Morrison. Since his father was in the union, the family traveled for
most of his formative years. Mike graduated in 1962 from Carlisle High School.
He married Paula Jane Wheeler on November 24, 1965.
He later joined the United States Air Force, working as a jet engine mechanic at the
Randolf Air Force base in Texas. While there, his sons Michael II and Marc were born.
After an honorable discharge, he returned to Indiana and completed his degree at ISU.
He moved to Crawfordsville to teach Industrial Arts at South Montgomery and Western
Boone High Schools. When Mike left the teaching profession, he became a member of
the UA Local 157 Plumbers and Steamfitters, retiring June 1, 2005.
After the loss of Paula, Mike married Kim Lu Storbakken in 1988. He was an active
member of many fraternal organizations. He was raised to Master Mason in 1975 and a
life endowed member at the Montgomery Co. Lodge, No. 50. He was a 32° Brother with
the Scottish Rite, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction since 2006; Sir Knight with
Crawfordsville Commandery No. 25 Knights Templar and Lawrence V. Kaminsky
Commandery No. 500 Knights Templar; Murat Shriners; Life member of the Knights of
the York Cross of honour, Robert A. Woods, Priory No. 62; Indianapolis Preceptory No.
4 Yeomen of York and Order of the Eastern Star No. 74, Athens Chapter # 97.
Mike had many hobbies over the years including model airplanes, computer gaming,
flight simulator and ham radio where he was a member of the Wabash Valley Amateur
Radio Association, licensed Call Sign / Number KD9NTN. He also loved traveling in the
R.V and visiting National Parks.
Mike passed away on September 24, 2025. Mike will be missed by his wife Kim Morrison of Terre Haute, IN; his loving sons,
Michael Morrison II and his wife, Rachel of Terre Haute, IN; Marc Morrison and his wife,
Jodie of Cypress, TX; step daughter Robin Storbakken and her fiancé Ted of
Greenwood, IN; his grandchildren and great grandchildren; his twin sister, Carolyn
Stultz of Sullivan, IN; his sister-in-law, Linda Kegel of Sanford, FL; and his furry friend,
Copper.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry H. Morrison, his mother, Elizabeth "Betty"
Ann Buckles Morrison; his sister, Lennore; first wife, Paula Jane and his brother H.
David Morrison.
