Milton Firestone Obituary

Milton D. Firestone, 81, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on January 30, 2023. Milton was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on July 12, 1941, and was the son of Carl W. Firestone and Agatha J. (Jean) Firestone.

Milton was a 1959 graduate of Rockville High School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana State University in 1966. He was employed by Indiana State University for 34 years in Computer Technology and later did statistical work for HealthCare Excel after his retirement from ISU.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela (Nash) Firestone, whom he married on March 31, 1984; stepchildren, Amanda Moon of Indianapolis and Bruce (Becky) Moon of Plainfield; and several nieces. Milton was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry Firestone.

Milton was an avid traveler who visited many American states and European countries. He also enjoyed running, being a long-time member of the Wabash Valley Road Runners Club; later, he switched to bicycling and joined the National Road Bicycle Club. He was also a member of the Wabash Valley Coin Club.

Friends may visit with Milton’s family on Friday, February 3 from Noon to 2 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home in Terre Haute. A service will follow visitation with Rev. Don Ransford officiating. Milton will be laid to rest in Highland Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it was Milton’s wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to the Terre Haute Humane Society (thhs.org) or Indiana Public Media (Indianapublicmedia.org).
