Nancy Jean Black, 74, of Terre Haute passed away Friday November 22, in her residence surrounded by her family. Nancy was born April 7, 1945 in Anamosa, Iowa to Howard Biere and Helen Reiken Biere. Nancy was a member of Remnant Church, where she led the hospitality ministry. She had a passion for God that was unmatchable after being saved at the age of 19. Nancy enjoyed spending her time gardening, sending out cards in the mail, and would often uplift and pray for her family that she cherished dearly. Nancy was a special education teacher for the Vigo County School Corporation for 28 years. She was the founder of Character Education Student of the Month Program. Nancy is survived by Larry, her loving husband of 38 years; children Julie Adams, Brian Findley (Barbara), Daniel Black (Jen); grandchildren Lauren Adams, Alisha Huffman (Zack), Alexandria Findley-Paris (Logan), Alijah Findley, Lilyana Toth; great grandchildren Blake Hernandez, Henry Huffman; brother Mark Biere (Michelle); and sister Mary Ann Burgess (Roger). She was preceded in death by her parents and grandchildren Addisyn Findley, Adam Findley, and Brennan Findley. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at 1:00p.m. in Remnant Church, 800 East Haythorne Ave, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804. Brandon and Jen Norman will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday, from 11:00a.m. until service time. If friends so desire, the family strongly suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Remnant Church. Care and arrangements have been entrusted to Greiner Funeral Home.
