Nancy Rose Martin (Hart)

Age 77, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 12th, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

Nancy was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Virginia Lavera (McCready) and John Wayne Hart. She attended several different schools, including a Catholic school.

Nancy was a fireball — tough as nails, outspoken, and never afraid to say exactly what she thought. She lived life on her own terms and stood firm in what she believed, no matter who disagreed. She enjoyed spending time with family, listening to music, and playing Yahtzee, where her competitive streak always showed.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Shelia, Margaret (Peggy), and Mindy; and three brothers, Robert (Blackie), Charlie, and Michael.

She is survived by her children: Allen Hart, Bridget Swiger, Tina Martin, Patrick Martin (Krystal), Gary Bennett (Michelle), and Christopher Richards; along with 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  She also leaves behind 2 sisters, Leila, and Virginia, and three brothers, Harry (Lori), Larry (Dianne), Richard (Nancy), and a bonus brother, Dennis Huey; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Nancy also shared a lifelong bond with her best friends, Konnie Mix and Cheryl Beck.

Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 2:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 12:00p.m. until service time. 

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at Hospice of the Wabash Valley for their compassionate care and for treating Nancy as though she were part of their own family.
