Patricia Marie (Rogers) Phillips, 66, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away September 26, 2023 at Carle Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. She was born April 25, 1957 in Terre Haute, Indiana to James and Norma (Andis) Rogers.
Patty graduated from Terre Haute South in 1975 and became a seamstress. She later graduated from Ivy Tech with her nursing degree. She was an LPN for many years and was passionate in working in elderly care. She previously attended Greenwood Baptist Church with her family and lovingly answered her granddaughters’ questions about Jesus.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents; a baby brother, Jimmy, and her nephew, Brian Rollings. She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, David Wayne Phillips; her sons, John David Phillips, Matthew James (Casey) Phillips and Justin Patrick Phillips; granddaughters, Carly Lynn and Ellison Lucille; her siblings, Gary (Winnie) Rogers and their children Amy (Paul) Kirby and Adam (Mary) Rogers, Gloria Rogers Rollings and her daughter Terri (Chad) Eaton, and Brenda (Bob) Rogers Harlan. She has many great nieces and nephews that she proudly talked about. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Bella.
Patty loved to crochet gifts and spend time in her gazebo with her family surrounded by her beautiful flowers and koi ponds. Nature photography was another fun hobby she excelled at and even won many honors at local fairs with her submissions. Patty was an avid fisher with her husband and enjoyed teaching her granddaughters how to bait and cast the perfect line.
Every holiday was a special treat as she insisted on baking all the pies and cookies her family could handle, and her chicken and noodles could beat out any restaurant. Unfortunately for David, he was always the winner, finding that lone chicken bone in his plate during those entertaining holiday meals.
