Priscilla Ilean (Lucas) Sams

Priscilla “Ilean” Sams, age 73 of Terre Haute, went home to see her Lord on September 25th at 8AM.  She was retired. Priscilla was born on July 5, 1946 in Sullivan, Indiana to Daniel Madison Lucas and Mary Jane (Gorby) Lucas. She is survived by her two sons: James E. Stark Jr. of Terre Haute and Herbby Sams with his wife Sharon Sams of West Terre Haute; three grandchildren that herself and Virgil raised: James E.  Stark III with his wife Cheryl Ann Lewis of Terre Haute, Daniel Stark with his fiancé Jodi Fennell of Terre Haute, and Priscilla Stark of Valparaiso; also Herbert Sams Jr., Samantha Berger and husband, Joe Ray Buchanan, Chris Buchanan, Allen Buchanan, Lorna Dickson and her husband, Jay; many grandchildren including Jay Michael Water & Crystal Steadman; 22 great-grandchildren including Emily Stark, Connor Stark, Conner Stark, and Edillon Stark; several nieces and nephews including Melinda Water, Joe Jo Water, Kelanna Russell, & Summer Cooper; cousins, and many friends. She is also survived by four sisters: Jeanette Sears of Terre Haute, Frances Johnson of Texas, Judy Rose Morris of Kentucky, and Gracie Williams. She is preceded in death by her father Daniel M. Lucas, mother Mary Jane (Gorby) Lucas, her husband Virgil Sams, first husband James E. Stark Sr., one daughter Priscilla M. Stark, one son Daniel E. Stark, two sisters Marjorie A. Sears & Tracie Lucas, four brothers John Lucas, Bobby Lucas, Charles Lucas, & David Lucas, and daughter-in-law Sandra Stark of Terre Haute. Priscilla wanted to say thank you to two special friends Doloris Meleney and Jim and Pat Mott. She also wanted to thank all of Terre Haute and a special thanks to  comfort keepers, her nurses Jody, Nancy, and Mary Lou ofTerre Haute from Intrepid. 

Services for Priscilla will be Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 1 PM in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., Terre Haute Indiana, 47804. Visitation will be from 11AM until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Barnhardt Cemetery. Reverend Merril Weir Jr.  will officiate.
