Reed Allen "Rocky" Jackson Obituary

Reed Allen “Rocky” Jackson, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away January 30, 2025 at his home. He was
born in Terre Haute, Indiana on September 2, 1952 to Bryan Jackson Jr and Edna Dickison Jackson. He
graduated from Garfield High School in 1970, and began pursuing his true passion and family tradition of
playing music. He was a gifted guitar player and fell in love for the first time when he purchased his 1954
Fender Stratocaster “Blackie”. He was most recognized for playing with his brother Bub in the Small
Change Band. He was inducted into the Wabash Valley Musician’s Hall of Fame in 2007. When he wasn’t
playing music or working nights, he was entertaining people with his wonderful sense of humor and
one-liners which always generated laughter. He could always be found at “The Ranch” when he was not
playing music or working nights with his two gals “Sofy” and “Sony” (classic line). He made several
lifelong friends along the way, and loved to tell stories about them with much love and affection. He was
preceded in death by his parents and brother Bryan “Bub” Jackson. He is survived by his son Eric
Jackson; significant other, Maggie Page; grandson, Liam Jackson; sister, Joyce Jackson; aunt Joyce Kemp;
niece, Betsie Jackson; and nephews,  Troy Fields, Trever Jackson, Rocky Jackson, Bryan “Clark” Mount; and his cat,
Jackson Black. He loved hosting “Slabfest”, an annual birthday party that was held in his backyard, which
featured music, beans, and entertainment. Please join us for one last “Slabfest,” and celebration of his
life on February 22, 2025 at Krietenstein Post 104 from 3p-8p.
